Personal retreats scheduled to suit your timetable, for a day, a week, or longer
Group retreats, quiet days, and workshops scheduled to suit your church or fellowship group (bring your own leader or ask for a Sister to lead)
Personal sabbatical time: come for a month or longer and enjoy the prayerful, peaceful environment of the Convent chapel, library, and gardens as well as comfortable accommodation and delicious meals.

Individually Directed Retreats at St John's Convent
PERSONALLY SCHEDULED RETREATS
Personally scheduled retreats - for a day, several days, or longer - can be arranged for individuals when there is space in the Guest House, and if guidance is desired when a retreat guide is available.
Cost of personal overnight retreats is $70 per day (including overnight, 3
meals and coffee breaks), with an extra $20 per day if a spiritual guide is
desired ($50 per night for full-time students with a valid student card).
Cost of day retreats is $25 (including a private room, noon meal,
and coffee breaks). Registration - see column at right.
CUSTOMIZED SABBATICAL PROGRAMS
Do you have some sabbatical time coming up? Consider spending all or part of it at St. John’s Convent Guest House, and making use of our varied resources:
- Our library of over 30,000 volumes, which includes an excellent collection on spirituality, theology, church history, and scripture study, as well as good recreational reading
- Proximity to the Toronto School of Theology and its varied denominational colleges
- The availability of spiritual direction at the Convent
- The option of participating in any or all of the Food for the Soul programs while you are here
- The opportunity to join the Sisters, as desired, for the daily celebration of the Eucharist as well as sung Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline
- A peaceful, relaxed environment both inside and out, with beautiful gardens and walks
- Option of taking a bag lunch if you are going out for the day
- Free parking and laundry facilities
- Easy accessibility to public transit
- Availability of all the cultural resources of the Greater Toronto Area
- Comfortable rooms, lounges, and pantries, with the option of a room with ensuite bath (depending on availability)

READING WEEK RETREAT February 14-19, 2010
This is a 5-day individually directed retreat, open to everyone but timed especially for Toronto School of Theology students. Enjoy a time of silence, rest in God, and an opportunity to be accompanied individually in your prayer as you respond to the Spirit of God within you. Those who cannot come for the whole week may arrange for a shorter retreat, depending on available space. Led by experienced spiritual directors.

WEEKEND INDIVIDUALLY DIRECTED RETREAT March 19-21, 2010
This is an opportunity to be accompanied individually as a way to deepen your prayer life, to explore particular issues or needs in your relationship with God, and to grow in sensitivity to the movements of the Spirit of God within you. Led by experienced spiritual directors. Begins at 4 pm Friday, ends 1:30 pm Sunday. Standard weekend fee. See registration here »

SUMMER DIRECTED RETREAT June 13-18 AND/OR August 8-13, 2010
This is a 5-day individually directed retreat, open to all who would like to enjoy the peaceful spaciousness of the summer gardens and beautiful restfulness of the indoor spaces at St. John’s Convent. You will have an opportunity to be accompanied individually in your prayer as you respond to the Spirit of God within you. The retreat may be lengthened or shortened depending on availability of space and directors. Led by experienced spiritual directors. Begins 4 pm Sunday; ends 1:30 pm Friday.
