Quiet Saturdays at St. John's Convent

Quiet Saturdays begin with a gathering and coffee time at 9:30 am in the Refectory, followed by a talk by the leader at 10:00 am. The rest of the morning is time for your own silent prayer and reflection, and we gather for the Eucharist at 12 noon.

Following the Eucharist, participants may join the Sisters for a silent hot dinner in the Refectory, or may eat a bag lunch with conversation in one of the meeting rooms.

A second talk will follow at 1:30 pm. The rest of the afternoon is for your own silent prayer and reflection. There will be a closing session at 3:30 pm, with departures by 4:00 pm.

Quiet Saturdays have a limited number of participants, usually 25. See registration page here »

Quiet Saturdays:
TAKEN, BLESSED, BROKEN, GIVEN
September 18, 2010
In the Eucharist, the ordinary gifts of bread and wine are taken, blessed, broken and given as extraordinary gifts for the world. This quiet day will explore how we, as ordinary people, are taken, blessed, broken and given by God as extraordinary gifts for the world. Led by the Rev. David Harrison, Associate of SSJD and Rector of St. Thomas, Brookin in the Diocese of Toronto. He is also an accomplished organist.
  • Begins 9:30 am with gathering for coffee;
  • ends at 3:30 pm.
  • Standard fee for Quiet Saturdays.
  • See registration here »
