St. John's House in the Diocese of British Columbia is a community of Sisters committed to being a praying presence in the Diocese of British Columbia. Prayer, intentional community, hospitality, and mission are at the heart of our life in the Diocese of British Columbia.
St. John's House, BC
The Sisters in the Diocese of British Columbia are involved in:
- intercessory prayer for the Diocese
- visiting and praying with congregations throughout the Diocese
- leading retreats, quiet days, workshops, and preaching
- a spiritual direction ministry
- teaching about and witnessing to the religious life and discernment of vocations
- participation in leadership teams and as resource persons for diocesan and parish events
- some local inner city outreach work
- ministry to other Western Dioceses, as time permits
- offering opportunities for Associates, Oblates (other Religious Communities) and friends to share in a variety of ways in our life, prayer and ministry
The Sisters of St. John’s House BC are supported in their ministry by the presence of a residential Oblate, who lives with us and shares in our life and ministry.
St. John’s House BC is also home to the Western (BC and Alberta) Province of Associates, and also provides support to our Oblates across the country.
